Looking For a new Obsession

I’m not going to have a great deal of time to sew this autumn, so I’ve been truly believing about doing some type of switch (Sewing With A Plan) program to ensure that I don’t do as I typically do, which is make totally random products that coordinate only in the sense that they all in shape me (more or less).

However, I want to base my organized stitching around a new gown design template (don’t worry, I still want to make a Duro or two) as well as I can’t choose which one. This is extremely distressing, particularly to somebody as definitive (not to state impetuous) as I am. Seriously, I feel many things are Not That Complicated: the essential thing is to pick something sensible as well as DO IT.

That said, the something I’m going to pick as well as Do will have something such as this type of bodice: a center seam with a dealt with collar. They’re extremely simple to sew, they look good with cardigans over them (a issue for the Duro), as well as they do well with prints. I requirement to make one up as well as see exactly how it does with a bit jacket over it, too. I’m just not consumed with them yet!

Unfortunately, this one, from Turtle Bay Trading Company, is just *slightly* as well huge for me.

And — aren’t the psychodynamics of this pattern envelope amazing? The lady on the left (who looks a bit like Téa Leoni, I think) is certainly being faced with some entitled upstart (look at that nose in the air!) as well as is on the point of providing a well-deserved set-down. Either that or the All-Beige question has just stated something so staggeringly inane that Ms. Leoni is taking a look at her as well as wondering just precisely exactly how much brain activity is needed for standing upright, as well as revising her previous quote downward.
